Ohio Is For Lovers pattern release!

My newest quilt pattern is called "Ohio is for Lovers" and I absolutely adore it.  It mixes quite a few techniques and blends them all together to create the cutest heart & star top!

For the entire month of March, the proceeds from this patterns sales will be donated to CARE.org, who is working to send "immediate crisis response. [Donations] rush urgently needed water, food, hygiene kits, and ongoing support in Ukraine."

I have this listed as a confident beginner or intermediate skill building pattern, since it uses
- foundation paper piecing (only a tiny bit!)
- hour glass blocks made from triangles
- four at a time flying geese
- on point assembly
- a pieced border

Keep scrolling for some eye candy (& hidden at the bottom is the reason for the name!) - I've made one full quilt, have a scrappy flimsy on it's way to get some custom quilting done, and a slightly scrappy one started for my son's teacher!

The version above uses yardage for the background, stars & accents.  The border & hearts are from solid scraps.

This one is 100% scraps!

This mock up is what my son decided on for his teacher - her favorite colours are blue & green. I have fat eighths I'll be using for the hearts, geese & cornerstones but everything else will be yardage!

You can click here to purchase the pattern - I can't wait to see what else gets made from this!  Please share the news with your quilty friends as well - let's see how much we can raise this month!

PS - looking for the reason behind the name?
I was super into emo, indie rock & lyrical metal in high school.... one of my favorite bands was Hawthorne Heights.  One of their songs goes "I can't make it on my own, because my heart is in Ohio!"
Since this is a heart inside an Ohio Star block, I couldn't not sing it as I pieced each block.
The song is called Ohio is for Lovers  <3
