Fussy Pumpkin QAL Kick Off!

Welcome to the Pumpkin Party!!!

I'm so glad you're here!!!

If you haven't gotten your pattern yet, click here to snag a copy!

Let's get started!  This week we're jumping right in - so show off your pull & let's start cutting!

I'm making turquoise pumpkins this time around & will be making the Full size.
There's a mix of quarter & half yard cuts, all purchased from either Fabric Bubb or Stash Fabrics.  There's a reason they're my two fabric shop sponsors - they are the first places I check for fabric!! :)

I popped a new blade in my rotary cutter, got a glass of wine & two hours later I had this lovely stack ready to go.
The bottom print is my backing & the one just above it will be my binding.  I'm totally prepared this time around!!

One thing I want to mention is that when cutting the background pieces, I start with the largest (in this case, the sashing) and go down from there.  That way I can use the extra pieces for the smaller cuts & have less waste in the long run!

I even make sure to cut so my fold is straight & use that tiny leftover bit for the two smallest sizes needed.

Here are my leftovers - I'll iron the folds out before cutting, but I'll use these for more of my squares..... and that means technically, I need one less strip!
