Ingleside / Flower House

I had the opportunity last month to use some of Camelot Fabrics Flower House fabric for a quilt!

This fabric is so floral - the water-colouresque print was my favorite.

Look at this happy stack! There are (10) fat quarters and I considered a few different patterns to showcase them.

In the running were Simple Wings, Joyful Stars, and the Missouri Star Quilt Block! But I ended up going with Ingleside by Sarah Jean Makes.

This pattern was perfect for these prints; the blocks are big enough to show off the prints, simple enough to let the fabrics shine, and still visually interesting. Plus it was a quick make - one of my favorite kinds!

I'm a sucker for a bright background.... so while I auditioned four different solids (1387 White, 1019 Black, 1333 Silver, 491 Jamaica) I ended up choosing the brightest of them.

I use clothespins to keep my rows in order. I did make sure all my prints are going the correct direction, too. I love how this blue plays with the florals.

I did alter the pattern just a smidge; I assembled in rows instead of big blocks because I was short on time and Sarah said I could 😂

I also added two extra borders (this should surprise no one, I am in my triple border era, I guess!)

This used up ALL of the fat quarters! I had roughly 1 1/2" x 9" of one print left!

I loaded it sideways so I could put a vertical pantograph on it. Simple Cables by Jess at the Long Arm League was a great match. I did double the suggested size because I wanted it loose and large.

I lovvvvee the way it turned out! So bright & cheery, it makes me very happy, since it's currently -21 degrees and incredibly grey outside.
